The 2011 Jerry Dickey COA calls the point a Thebes, but my 'take' is still Big Sandy Broadbase--opinions are just that. If you're the next owner you can decide what to call the Early Archaic point out of a creek in Daviess County, Kentucky. Jerry called the flint 'possibly hornstone'---could be hornstone or a high grade of Dover Flint (as I suspect)--4" by 1&5/8", max thickness in the hafting area is 5/16", and most of the blade is in the 1/4" +/- range--THIN. You can feel work polish on one side of the very narrow tip--there couldn't have been much pressure on the tip or it would have snapped, but the use was sufficient to leave the tip polished on one side. The base has super edge grinding--both Big Sandys and Thebes were known for their polishing of the basal edge. The price includes the shipping cost--COA shipped in an envelope so it doesn't get bent.
