History: marked as being found in Gibson County, Indiana
Provenance--culture: Early Archaic, based on the basal grinding
Flint: AS best I can identify the flint it's a heat-treated Indiana Spencer County Holland Flint--you SELDOM see Holland Flint heat treated, so this may have been an accidental heat-treating--a flint chunk used to ring (contain) a campfire, the fire changing the color of the flint.
The side notch was once glued in a frame, so if you see any remaining glue, you know what's happened--I have not soaked the point, but expect the glue will be water-removable.
Great color, authentic.
